Shopping in Saint Croix
Saint Croix doesn't have as many boutiques as its popular cruise-port neighbor of St. Thomas, but there are still plenty of little shops and markets to make for a nice day out. There are some advantages to this situation - Saint Croix is still a duty-free and sales tax free bargain haven, but crowds tend to be much thinner here and you're less likely to have to fight with the thousands of fervent cruise-ship passengers.
The best Saint Croix shopping can be found in Christiansted, along King and Company streets, at the Pan Am Pavilion, Kings Alley Walk, and Gallows Bay. For the trendiest Caribbean-style fashions in Saint Croix, check out From the Gecko. Gone Tropical and Royal Poinciana both feature a great selection of Saint Croix souvenirs and gifts, while Crucian Gold is where you'll find the most unique jewelry in all of Saint Croix.
Strand Street is the main shopping drag in Frederiksted, and it offers much of the same types of goods that can be found in Christiansted. One shop of note: Island Webe, which offers a fun assortment of gifts produced locally on Saint Croix and throughout the Caribbean, including jams, coffees, and African-inspired dolls.
